San Miguel de Tajao Beach: peace, seafood, and local charm

San Miguel de Tajao Beach is one of those hidden gems in South Tenerife that still retains its authenticity. Located in the small fishing village of Tajao, this beach is perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful, natural, and local atmosphere.

Unlike other more touristy beaches, Tajao offers a genuine, no-frills experience: clean sea, calm surroundings, and the feeling of being in a place frequented by locals looking to unwind or enjoy good food.

  • A rocky beach with pebbles, ideal for those who love snorkeling or simply relaxing to the sound of the sea.
  • Clear and calm waters, perfect for a safe and refreshing swim.
  • Spectacular views of the Atlantic and a serene, uncrowded environment.

Gastronomy

One of Tajao’s biggest attractions is its gastronomic offer focused on fresh fish and seafood. The village’s small port supplies the local restaurants directly, ensuring quality and flavor in every dish.

If you visit this area, don’t miss a meal in one of its seaside restaurants. Grilled fish platters, squid, limpets, or mussels with mojo sauce are just a few of the delights you can enjoy.

If you’re planning your holiday, make sure to include a traditional meal by the Atlantic in your itinerary. Flavor and scenery go hand in hand in Tenerife!

Mount Teide

If there’s one place you can’t miss during your stay on the island, it’s Teide National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this impressive volcano is the highest peak in Spain at 3,718 meters above sea level, and one of Tenerife’s top tourist attractions.

Exploring Teide is like visiting another planet: volcanic landscapes, lava fields, craters, and unique rock formations make it a visually stunning experience. And thanks to its clear skies and lack of light pollution, it’s also one of the best spots in the world for stargazing.
